[NeedlecraftPals] Re: CHECKING IN

Sally, I posted my reply to your story with your message to my HWS group; I hope you don't mind....

Sally, why do people set their minds and scoff at animals' interaction? How ignorant. I had a guy..the HEAD of the Humane Society here, try to tell me that crap about cats when I told him my Junior was mourning for his life-long buddy, Rusty. Again and again I've seen animals care about each other, break "the rules" of supposed hunter-prey and so-called enemies, from our dog letting cats nap between her paws to our cat Rusty "helping" our elderly cat Angel up the stairs ( he would keep tapping her), to Angel purring all night with me when Junior was at the Vet's after getting hit by a car, and then quietly sniffing him and staying near him when he came home. I'm sorry you're losing Duckie. I don't know the life-span of rats, but it's wonderful you give them good homes.

Me, I fight summer ending, hold onto the warmth as long as possible. I'm trying to get back to enjoying each season in its turn, and the early fall spectacular colors here in Connecticut are breath-taking, if common. I love harvesting from my garden and decorating with whatever I can if my pumpkin vines etc. cooperate.

Right now, even though we're getting flooded, I'm grateful that we finally got rain.

I'm thinking about Christmas, but not doing much about it yet. Although I strongly object to the cost of cable TV and all that, I'm grateful that we have the Create Channel and between that and 2 PBS channels I get to watch shows like Knit and Crochet Now (formerly Today),  the painting shows of Bob Ross, Susan Scheewe and Gary Spetz, the woodworking shows, too! LOL.
